Ray Mayfleet is the father of Lina Mayfleet and Poppy Mayfleet and the son-in-law of Granny Mayfleet. His name is never announced in the books; however, in the film, he becomes much more involved in the plot, having attempted to escape the city with Loris Harrow, Doon's father, and with help from Clary Lane, the head of the greenhouses. In the book, he died of the coughing sickness, while in the film he drowned when the tunnel he and Loris were in flooded.
